At least 53 killed or injured in car bombing at Hizballah’s Beirut HQ
The black smoke rising above southern Beirut came from a big explosion caused by a car bomb, which killed and injured at least 53 people Tuesday in the Hizballah stronghold district of Dahya. DEBKAfile: The car bomb blew up at a Hizballah office building in the Sir al-Abd quarter next door to a Shiite mosque and a technical school which were also hit. There are no further details about the number of casualties but they are believed to be considerable.
