At least 78 died in Spanish train derailment

Repsonders worked through Tuesday night to rescue  passengers trapped by a high-speed train derailment at Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain in which 78 people died and more than 140 were injured. Eight carriages went off the tracks and piled up as the train with 247 passengers went around a sharp bend. The train diver has been detained after he admitted he exceeding the permitted speed limit and so causing one of Europe’s worst train disasters.
