At least 83 killled, including 24 policemen, in clashes in Egypt
Egyptian security forces report that 83 people were killed in pro-Morsi protests – including 24 policemen – in exchanges of fire. More than a score died clashes in Fayoum, Damietta and Ismailia.
The millions of supporters the Muslim Brotherhood called out Friday did not materialize. The numbers did not exceed tens of thousands across the country. Security forces received order to use live fire to protect vital facilities and public buildings and prevent the protesters from massing in the squares. The US and France have warned citizens against travel to Egypt.
