Australia reconsiders visa of Muslim scholar over anti-gay remarks
The Australian government is reconsidering its visa for a British Islamic scholar currently lecturing in Sydney who has said homosexuals should be killed. Farrokh Sekaleshfar, who also lectured in Orlando this year, said in 2013 that "death is the sentence for homosexual acts" in Islam, and that it was "nothing to be embarrassed about." Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Tuesday that the scholar's visa was being reviewed and that he has "zero tolerance for people to come to Australia who preach hatred."
