Australian police Four men arrested linked to Islamist-inspired plot
As tightened security caused huge queues and disruptions at Australian airports, counter-terrorism were racing against time Monday in raids of Sydney homes for evidence against the four suspects in custody in connection with an aircraft plot. Australian Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin said the men arrested, reportedly a father and son and another pair, were linked to an Islamist-inspired plot to detonate an improvised explosive device. Police declined to confirm local media reports that the terror plot involved concealing a device in a kitchen meat grinder or the possible use of poisonous gas.
