Beersheba takes three Grad salvoes
No casualties. The first massive round of at least 6 missiles against Beersheba caused damage to property. Most were intercepted by Iron Dome. Shortly before this attack, special police units were placed on the ready in all parts of Israel for possible terrorist attacks. Police reservists were told to stand by for call-up armed and uniform. Locations within 40 kilometers of the Gaza Strip were advised to prepare for rocket attacks until Operation Pillar of Cloud was over. Hamas’ southern sector commander, Raad al-Atar, who was mistakenly reported killed, said his organization had the weapons to hit Tel Aviv and further north. He was referring to the Fajr-5 rockets whose range in 75 kilometers.
