Before his speech, Obama talks by phone to Saudi King Abdullah

US President Barack Obama held a phone conversation with Saudi King Abdullah Wednesday, just hours before he delivered a speech unveiling his strategy for defeating ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The content and tenor of their conversation were not disclosed. DEBKAfile: They almost certainly discussed the US President’s bid to bring regional powers led by Saudi Arabia into his broad coalition for fighting the Islamic State.
