Bennet calls Putin to offer mediation, at request from Kiev

PM Naftali Bennett called President Vadimir Putin on Sunday to offer Israel’s mediation in the Ukraine conflict, at the request of its president, Volodymyr Zelensky. The offer was politely refused. Putin complained that Moscow had agreed to negotiate with Ukraine in Belarus, but the Ukrainian president had rejected the offer. A plane left Israeli for Ukraine with humanitarian aid for distressed civilians. Israel refrained from sponsoring the US-led UN Security Council condemnation of Russia for invading Russia.
