Bennett government scrapes through first no-confidence vote. Still up for grabs

The Joint Arab List (opposition) rescued the government coalition from its first Likud no confidence motion at the opening of the summer session on Monday. This opposition grouping saved the government after the Raam Arab party coalition faction was absent in protest against government policy on Temple Mount. After losing its majority of one, the government led by Naftali Bennett has dim prospects of surviving to term or even the current session unless he can scoop up defectors from the opposition benches – a highly unlikely prospect at present.
