Biden on surprise visit to Ukraine: “Americans stand with you”

Four days before the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion, US President Joe Biden on Monday paid a surorise visit to Kyiv. Speaking alongside President Vladimir Zelensky, he recalled fears then of a quick Russian takeover of the Ukraine capital. “One year leader, Kyiv stands, democracy stands,” Biden said, and “the Americans stand with you for as long as it takes.”
