Biden will not lift sanctions until Iran stops enriching uranium

President Joe Biden rebuffed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by stating on Sunday that the US will not lift sanctions unless Iran stops enriching uranium. This was his immediate response to Khamenei’s demand that sanctions be lifted before Tehran returns to the 2015 nuclear accord. Biden answered in the negative a TV interviewer’s question: Will the US lift sanctions first in order to get Iran back to the negotiating table? They have to stop enriching uranium first, the president said.
