Blaze erupts in forest near Kfar Saba; two others creep toward gas stations
A fire broke out Thursday in the Horshim Forest, located near the city of Kfar Saba in central Israel, and spread toward the adjacent community of Nirit, with heavy smoke covering the area. The authorities decided to evacuate a number a streets in the community. Elsewhere, firefighters were struggling to keep fires away from a gas station in Sha'ar Hagai, in the hills outside Jerusalem, and from another gas station at the Savyon intersection near the city of Or Yehuda.
