Bloomberg, Biden join DNC assault on Trump in Philadelphia
US Vice President Joe Biden and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave speeches Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention in which they expressed support for Hillary Clinton and blasted Republican candidate Donald Trump. Biden called Trump's promises to the middle class "a bunch of malarkey", accusing him of lacking empathy and compassion for workers as shown in Trump's use of the catchphrase "You're fired." Bloomberg, meanwhile, called the Republican candidate a "dangerous demagogue" and questioned his business skills, stating, "I'm a New Yorker and I know a con when I see one." The former mayor said "Trump has left behind a well-documented record of bankruptcies, thousands of lawsuits, angry shareholders and contractors who feel cheated, and disillusioned customers who feel ripped off." Bloomberg added that "Trump says he wants to run the nation like he's run his business. God help us."
