Blue-White leader Gantz calls Netanyahu with congratulations

Benny Gantz called PM Binyamin Netanyahu Friday to congratulate him on his election victory. “I am calling to congratulate you on your election achievement and wish you, your family and the people of Israel, Hag Sameach!” Netanyahu replied with a thank you. “I wish you too Hag Sameach,” he said. “Let us restore calm to Israel, each to his own task.”  Sources in the Blue-White party explained that the premiership rotation accord forged between Gantz and Yair Lapid would have applied only if the party had won the election and the premiership. Since this did not happen, the rotation arrangement is null and void and Gantz stays on as party leader for the full duration of the new Knesset.
