Bolton: The Hague court is illegitimate, unaccountable and dangerous

US National Security Adviser John Bolton announced Monday that Washington would provide no cooperation to the “supernational” International Court in the Hague. Its investigation into detainee abuse in Afghanistan is “utterly unfounded,” he said, calling the ICC “illegitimate, unaccountable and dangerous.” The US State Department had earlier announced the closure of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington, partly out of  concern over Palestinian attempts to have the ICC investigate US ally Israel, although neither country was a signatory of the Rome Statute establishing the court.
