Bomb scare forces emergency landing of Egyptair flight in Uzbekistan

An Egyptair flight from Cairo to Beijing had to divert from its flight path and make an emergency landing in Uzbekistan on Wednesday after receiving a warning that a bomb had been planted on the plane. All 135 of the passengers and crew were quickly evacuated from the Airbus A330 at Urgench airport, about 1,000 kilometers from the Uzbek capital Tashkent. Security forces swept the plane but no bomb was found, so the flight was allowed to take off again.
