Boris Johnson beats Jeremy Hunt in party vote for British prime minister

A ballot of 160,000 Tory members ended Tuesday in a clear victory for former foreign secretary Boris Johnson (92,153) against his main rival current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt (46,656). He takes over as prime minister on Wednesday. Retiring Theresa May is due to submit her resignation to the Queen.
