Boston bomber indicted on 30 counts
A federal grand jury handed an indictment of 30 counts, 17 of which carry the death sentence, against the Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, for using weapons of mass destruction to cause four deaths and injuring more than 260 people. In a note found after his capture, Tsarnaev justified his actions as a response to US military action in Muslim countries. His brother, Tamerlan, who carried out the attack with him, died later during a chase and shootout with the police.
