Brawl erupts between backers, opponents of Erdogan in Washington
Nine people were injured on Tuesday in a clash between supporters and opponents of Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan outside the Turkish embassy in the US capital. Reports said members of the president's security detail attacked anti-Erdogan demonstrators. Two people were arrested. The local police did not specify which groups were involved, and the State Department declined to comment. The incident occurred on the same day that the Turkish leader met US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
