Britain claims big oil find near Gatwick Airport

UK Oil & Gas Investments reported Thursday that Horse Hill-1 in the Weald Basin near Gatwick Airport was now thought to hold 158 barrels per square miles, potentially a “world class resource” that could dwarf North Sea production. However, only a small amount of the total reservoir estimated at 4.4 million barrels of shale oil may be accessible. The announcement boosted UKOG shares more than 300 percent in Thursday trading.
