Cairo snubs White House aide after US cuts Egypt’s aid bill

The Egyptian foreign minister first cancelled the meetings scheduled in Cairo on Wednesday for White House adviser Jared Kushner and other US officials, after the US cut nearly $100m in military and economic aid to Egypt and delayed another $200 in military funding   The Trump administration called on Cairo to ease harsh restrictions on civic and non-governmental groups. The ministry later announced that the American delegation would be received after all by President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi.
