Cairo whitewashes Sinai truce with terrorists

Egyptian TV claimed Wednesday that the military operation against terrorists was continuing, Egyptian troops had just killed 11 “terrorists” and captured 23, and seized large quantities of weapons including “boxes of Israeli ammo.” DEBKAfile: Official Egyptian sources are bending over backwards to conceal the ten-day truce deal Egyptian defense minister Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Chief of Staff Gen. Sidky Soby struck with Bedouin chiefs and certain Salafi leaders in Sinai on Aug. 27.
