Cameron cancels trip to Israel, Palestinian Authority over flood crisis
To take charge of the flood crisis inundating large parts of southern Britain since December, Prime Minister David Cameron announced Tuesday he was cancelling his Mid East trip next week with apologies to Binyamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas. “Money is no object for dealing with the crisis,” he pledged. As the army moved in to back up relief workers in waterlogged towns, the Thames River burst it banks some 30 km upstream of London. Rail, road and air traffic are seriously disrupted as more rainstorms are forecast.
