Canadian parliament extends military mission against ISIS

Canada’s parliament approved Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s decision to extend its military mission against the Islamic group for another year, to include air strikes over Syria as well as Iraq. Canada will be the first NATO country other than the US to conduct air strikes in Syria, alongside Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the UAE. Canada also has 69 special forces soldiers training Kurdish peshmerga fighters in northern Iraq.
