Car in Cairo traffic accident that killed 20 loaded with explosives

The Egyptian Interior Ministry said Monday that the car which blew up in a multi-vehicle traffic accident in Cairo the day before was packed with explosives for a terrorist attack somewhere else. Twenty people died in the accident outside the National Cancer Institute and 30 more were injured. The car was said to have been stolen in the Egyptian province of Menofia. The statement did not name the terrorist organization.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in a message to Cairo: “We send our sincere condolences to the victims’ families and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. We stand alongside the Egyptian people in its fight against terrorism.”
