Carter: Libya’s Sirte cleared of ISIS, 3 terrorists killed in Raqqa

US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter reported Tuesday that ISIS had now lost all the territory it had controlled in Sirte, “its single most important stronghold in Libya,” after weeks of fighting by Libyan forces. He said US military airstrikes against ISIS there were concluded. Speaking at the Aviano Air Base in Italy, Carter also disclosed the deaths of three ISIS leaders by a single coalition air strike. All three were linked to terror plots in Europe.
