Catalan police raid home of Barcelona terror imam
Catalan police are gathering the pieces of the plot by an ISIS network based in the Pyrenees town of Ripoli to carry out multiple murder attacks in Catalonia, including a reported plan to blow up the famous Sagrada Familia of Barcelonia. Saturday, the investigators raided the house of an imam in Ripoli, Abdelbaki Es Satty, who is believed to have been the network’s leader. They were looking for DNA samples to connect him to the clandestine bomb-making factory in Alcanar which blew up during preparation for a chain of mega-attacks..
Younes Aouyaaquoub, the presumed driver of the van attack on Barcelona’s Las Ramblas, which killed 13 people and left more than 100 injured, is still on the run. Three members, Moussa Oukabir, 17, Mohammed Hychami, 23 and Said Aallaa, 19, have been officially identified as among the attackers killed by police. Four cell members are in police custody.
