Chancellor Angela Merkel injured in ski accident

The German chancellor has called off her foreign visits and official appointments after fracturing her pelvis in a cross-country skiing accident in Switzerland and is walking with the help of crutches, he spokesman said Monday. She has been told to take it easy for three weeks and work from home where possible. But Chancellor Merkel will lead the first cabinet meeting Wednesday of her new grand coalition government.
