Chelsea FC cancels victory parade amid heightened security threat
A parade scheduled to held Sunday in London to honor the Chelsea football club's Premier League championship was called off on Wednesday. A statement by the team said that it would be "inappropriate" to hold the event in light of the Manchester terrorist attack. "Given the heightened security threat announced by the Government, and recognising that this is a developing situation, we have given this careful consideration," the club said, adding "we would not want in any way to divert important resources" by holding the parade.
