Cinton slams Trump’s “neutral “stance on Mid East dispute
“America can’t ever be neutral when it comes to Israel security or survival,” Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton told the AIPAC meeting in Washington Monday. This was a broadside against Republican rival Donald Trump, who said he would be a neutral broker between Israelis and Palestinians.
In her speech, the former secretary of state emphasized the need for an “unshakeable commitment” to Israel and said the US needs a president with “a deep personal commitment” to Israel.
Candidates who think "America no longer has vital national interests at stake in this region are dangerously wrong,” she said. “Some things aren’t negotiable, and anyone who doesn’t understand that has no business being our president,” said Clinton.
On ABC TV Trump said Sunday ahead of his speech to the influential Israel lobby group, “A deal [with the Palestinians] would be in Israel's interests.” He added, “There is nobody more pro-Israel than I am.”
