Clinton turns her arrows from Trump to FBI Director
The US presidential election took another bizarre turn Saturday night, when Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton attacked FBI Director James Comey for his “strange and troubling” decision to reopen the emails case against her after closing it in July. She and her campaign bombarded the FBI director with demands to “come clean” on the new email material which he told Congress Friday, Oct. 29, 11 days before voting day, had spurred the second probe into the use of private server as Secretary of State for classified corrrespondence..
The decision put the FBI at odds with Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Since both remain strangely silent, the campaign scene is fraught with suspense for the next shocker to fall in the final week before voting.
Clinton’s closest aide and constant companion, Huma Abedin, has dropped out of sight since reports that the emails which prompted the new probe were found on a device she shared with her ex-husband former Congressman Anthony Wiener. He is under investigation in a separate case for sexting with a minor.
Republican candidate Donald Trump has meanwhile seized on the scandal, calling it “bigger than Watergate,” (which brought President Nixon down), to boost his campaign and is closing in on his Democratic candidate in the polls.
