Coordinated bombings kill 71 around Baghdad

The blasts in quick succession by explosive cars, bombs and suicide bombers Wednesday targeted shoppers, markets, restaurants and people going to work in predominantly Shiite neighborhoods of Baghdad. The attacks, killing 71 people and injuring 200, bore the hallmarks of al Qaeda and are the deadliest in a wave of sectarian killings that have left thousands dead since April.
