Coronavirus tally in Israel now 1,071 – 18 seriously ill

Confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel crossed the thousand mark on Sunday to 1,017, with 18 in serious condition – two less than this morning; 344 mild cases are at home; 97 are in special hotels and 37 have recovered. Twenty-one labs are working around the clock and began processing 3,000 coronavirus tests a day. The number of jobless has soared to 521,000 (upping the unemployment figure to 14pc). Stressing the importance of staying home and preserving social distance as the main tool for containing the spread of the disease, the  government extended standard winter hours by a month so that people have less daylight hours to be tempted to go out and enjoy the spring weather.
