Court rejects plea bargain, extends former PM’s sentence to 19 months

The Jerusalem district court on Wednesday rejected a plea bargain regarding the conviction of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on obstruction of justice charges and sentenced him to another month in prison in addition to the 18-month sentence he has already received. The plea bargain had been reached by lawyers for Olmert, who is to begin serving his sentence on February 15, and the prosecution.
