Covid infection tops 9,000 for fourth day, Two million vaccinated
The level of coronavirus infection in Israel remains stuck in the high figures confirming the likelihood of a third week of lockdown being approved next week. On Thursday, 9,172 new cases and 7,6 positive tests were recorded plus 1,097 seriously ill in the hospitals. Another 26 deaths raised the total to 3,869. Vaccinations reached two million recipients. Defense Minister Benny Gantz has assigned the army to help people bedridden at home or otherwise housebound to get vaccinated. Soldiers will drive military nurses to their addresses and military ambulances transfer others to nearby immunization stations.
Next week too, convicts in jail will receive covid vaccinations after the prison staff.
