Czech FM Petricek visits Western Wall on arrival in Israel

Shortly after arriving in Israel on Tuesday, the foreign minister of the Czech Republic Tomas Petricek visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem, in the company of Israel’s ambassador to Prague, Daniel Meron. This was the first time an EU minister had visited the holy site with an Israeli official. He earlier strongly condemned Hamas and Islamic Jihad for firing rockets at Israeli civilians. The minister is also set to the visit the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and meet PA Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki.
