David Friedman officially becomes Trump’s ambassador to Israel
David Friedman was sworn in on Wednesday as the US ambassador to Israel, becoming the first ambassador to take office under the Trump administration. Vice President Mike Pence, who administered the oath, said during the ceremony in Washington that Friedman's appointment is "one of the clearest signs" of President Donald Trump's commitment to the Jewish people and the state of Israel. Friedman's wife Tammy, their five children and several of their grandchildren were present at the event.
