Deadly bomb explosion in southern Damascus

A large explosion near a Syrian military branch in southern Damascus Sunday left several dead and wounded, followed by gunfire. Syrian state media called it a terrorist attack and offered no details. Opposition sources said the cause of the blast could not be verified, whether by a planted bomb or a suicide attack. The area of the Syrian capital was cordoned off to trap the perpetrators.
