Death sentence for Bangaleshi Islamist leader

The supreme court of Bangladesh sentenced Abdul Kader Mullah, leader of the opposition Jamaat-e-Islami party, to death for crimes against humanity during the 1971 war of independence from Pakistan. Official estimates say more than three million people were killed in the war.
