“Death to America” slogans in Tehran

Tens of thousands of people, many shouting Death to America and Death to Israel gathered in Tehran Monday to mark the 1979 seizure of the US embassy and taking of its staff hostage in the wake of the Islamic Revolution. Observers said the rally this year, an annual rite in Islamist Iran, drew the largest crowd in years in protest against the substantive nuclear talks with the West. They trampled and burned American flags and likenesses of Obama.
