Death toll from ISIS bombings in Baghdad soars past 200

The death toll from Saturday's suicide bombing on the busy Karrada shopping center in Baghdad has risen to 200, the deputy head of the security committee of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Mohamed al-Rubaye‎, said in a televised phone interview Monday, as rescue teams were still pulling bodies out of the rubble. Claimed by ISIS, it was the deadliest single attack in the war-torn country in years. Shiite Prime minister Haidar al- Abadi, who declared three days of national mourning, faced thrown objects and abuse when he visited the scene.
