Death toll revised to 14 from huge blast in Beirut
Lebanese authorities say 14 people were killed and 200 injured, down from the initial figure of 22 dead, in the huge car bomb explosion which Thursday struck the heart of the Dahya district of Beirut, a Hizballah stronghold. An entire street and dozens of cars were ravaged. A Salafist Sunni group claimed the attack. The same district was the target of a similar car explosion in July against the background of Hizballah’s involvement in the Syrian war.
