DEBKA Exclusive: Iranians, Palestinians meet secretly in Brussels

DEBKAfile's intelligence sources report exclusively on Wednesday that Iran and the Palestinian Authority held secret talks in the Belgian capital. The Iranian delegation was made up entirely of officials representing Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the sources said. 
On Monday, DEBKAfile reported exclusively on the establishment of a direct diplomatic channel between the Iranian leadership in Tehran and the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah, with Jibril Rajoub, a member of the Fatah central committee, in charge of the Palestinian side. According to reports on Wednesday, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is considering appointing Rajoub as his deputy.
