Disarray in Washington after Biden says Putin “can’t remain in power”
“For God’s sake, this man [Putin] cannot remain in power,” said President Joe Biden in a speech in Warsaw on Saturday, calling forth a Kremlin rejoinder that this was not Biden’s decision to make but the choice of the Russian people. The White House issued a clarification that regime change was not be taken as official policy. Insiders said his remarks were not planned and came as a surprise to his aides.
