Donald Trump sworn in as US President, vows to restore power to the people
After taking the oath office as the 45th US president on Friday, Donald Trump pledged the transfer of power taking place was not between presidents and parties, but ”from Washington DC to the American people.” In his address to a packed audience, he declared: “The forgotten people will be forgotten no longer,” and repeatred his campaign pledge to put America first. The new US president also promised to “unite the civilized world against radical Islamist terror and eradicate it from the face of the earth."
