A Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife critically injured an Israeli man of 50 early Friday at the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. The victim was taken to Shearei Tzedek Hospital with stab wounds to his head and throat. Surgeons are fighting for his life. The same terrorist reached the Hurva Synagogue inside the walls and stabbed an 18-year old Israeli man, inflicting light-to-moderate injuries. Police guards on the spot shot him dead. An investigation has been launched to discover how the Palestinian terrorist was able to move freely around the Old City during a high security alert that was in place for the last Friday prayers of Ramadan. Closure later imposed on the Old City.
