Doubt cast on Tehran’s claimed capture of US drone over Gulf
US Navy’s 5th Fleet spokesman, Cmdr, Jason Salata, said Tuesday all US drones are "fully accounted for" after Iran claimed its Revolutionary Guards had captured an American ScanEagle drone in Iranian airspace. He said US operations in the Persian Gulf are confined to internationally recognized water and air space and no drones were missing in the Middle East. The IRGC’s naval commander Ali Fadavi reported earlier that a US drone gathering information over Gulf waters had been captured after entering Iranian airspace. He did not say when the craft was captured or by what means.
