Dow Jones plunges on news of reopened FBI Clinton probe

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill saw a potential game changer for the presidential election 11 days awayin FBI Director James Comay’s stunning decision Friday to reopen the email investigation against Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton. As the Dow Jones average dropped initially more than 150 points, her Republican rival, Donald Trump seized on the breaking news at a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, and praised the FBI for having the “courage” to “right the horrible mistake that they made.” In his original decision in July, the FBI director decided not to not to indict Clinton despite her “reckless negligence” in using her private server as Secretary of State for official classified correspondence. Clinton herself has refrained from commenting on the news and made no reference to the reopened probe against her at a campaign rally in Iowa.

One FBI source said the new email evidence against Clinton was not disclosed by Wikileaks but discovered by chance during the sexting investigation against Anthony Weiner, former husband her senior aide, Huma Abedin.
