Dutch bar Turkish minister from landing in rally row
Ankara called the Dutch “Nazis” – repeating last week’s curse on the German government – for refusing Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu permission to address a Turkish rally in Rotterdam on Saturday or engaging in any political activity on Dutch soil. When the minister flew in anyway, he was denied a Dutch landing permit. Tayyip Erdogan has been trying to canvass support for extending his presidential powers in the large Turkish communities of Germany and the Netherlands when it is put to referendum in April.
