Early rockets from Gaza target Hof Ashkelon and W. Negev
The first Palestinian rockets from the Gaza Strip Saturday targeted Hof Ashkelon, Sedot Negev, where a planted field was set on fire, and Shear Hanegev. Iron Dome carried out two successful intercepts. More than 100 rockets were fired Friday, killing a four-year old boy, critically injuring two men – a reservist back from fighting in the Gaza operation and a father who rushed nursery school infants to a shelter – and wounding a dozen more civilians.
The Israeli air force struck 30 terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip overnight. The IDF has corrected the claim that the rocket which killed the boy came from an UNWRA school, clarifying that the location was a nearby Hamas school.
